Happy Valentines Day

Ernest Becker:

When we understand that man is the only animal who must create meaning, who must open a wedge into neutral nature, we already understand the essence of love. Love is the problem of an animal who must find life, create a dialogue with nature in order to experience his own being.

Ernest Becker is one of my favorites. A dialogue would be wonderful, if we could learn to listen.

Where have I been??? I get sidetracked by a silly little thing called the Olympics, and I have missed several of your wonderful blog posts. I think you have the best blog in the blogosphere, bar none.

BTW, I don't like Valentine's Day, so I'm not going to wish you Happy Valentine. I think we have enough silly "holidays" to make people feel excluded, and to make Hallmark richer.

It is Chinese New Year, though so...

Art, I discovered Becker late, but it's a lasting relationship.
Jo, aw shucks. Come on, now.
Thank you. The year of the Tiger, eh? Sounds fierce!
